Ten Commandments for a Professional Business
1. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
- It is not fair to others if they are always approaching you with a positive attitude and you are always rude.
2. If you intend to lie, know that someone can lie to you and your ready to accept that
-People are always afraid to be lied to but never think twice if they have to lie to someone else to cover him or herself. Do not be a hypocrite.
3. Live everyday with no regrets
-Life is too short. People always make mistake regardless how bad they are. As long as you learn a lesson from them and never repeat them again, it will only make one wiser in the long run.
4. Learn Something New Everyday
-Thrive on knowledge. You would be surprised how much you can learn just by teaching yourself something new every day.
5. Having a good Hygiene
-Keeping a professional image helps our company look outstanding. This means, keeping your hair well groomed, no over accessorizing, wearing business professional clothing to work unless informed otherwise, keeping piercings to a minimum, and having tattoos covered at all times.
6. No Harassments or Physical Fighting Allowed
-Any sort of sexual harassment and fighting, whether it is verbal or physical can lead to immediate termination to anger management classes to resolve conflicts. Therefore, to avoid these consequences please resolve conflicts as adults by coming to a reasonable solution
7. Promoting a Drug Free environment
-Drugs are okay when you take them for medical reasons. For any other reason will not be tolerated. Drugs can become an addiction, so to prevent the serious side effects, random drug tests will be given to enforce the policy.
8. Arriving somewhere on time is considered being late
- If you arrive somewhere at the time you were expected to be would be considered late, always intend to be there 5minutes prior to the time given. I have always been on a race with time ever since I can remember and had become one of my biggest goals to achieve one day.
9. Always present yourself in a Professional Manner
-We are no longer children. We should handle business in the best ways possible. If there are disagreements or any sort of negative factors feel free to speak up to perhaps receive a better understanding to why it is this way or even to come up with another conclusion.
10. Never hesitate to tell someone with what’s on your mind (In a orderly fashion)
-Stress can come from many factors, but one that we all can deal with on a daily basis is holding a grudge. If you have a problem with someone, go up to them and solve it. Otherwise it will just start to show on your face as you age.
1. Respect yourself
2. Respect others
3. Respect your property and belongings
4. Respect the property and belongings of others
5. Respect your body
6. Respect other people’s bodies
7. Respect the integrity of yourself and others
8. Respect the potential of yourself and others
9. Honesty is the best policy
10. Don’t do anything you would be ashamed of
I chose these rules because they encompass anything and everything. The flaw and advantage of these rules is the ambiguity and vagueness of them. Every person can manipulate any situation to follow or break these rules. The rules rely on the morality of the person living by them. I would never presume to tell anyone else how to live his or her life and in return I appreciate being allowed to live my life as it suites me. I am a firm believer of rules and consequences, otherwise our world would be full of Jokers and chaos, but there’s a reason why each family has a different parenting style, there will never be one set of rules everyone will agree to or live by.
1. You would need to follow all professors in the university.
2.No cheating of any sort allowed
3. No alchol on campus.
4. No motorized vechiles on campus.
5.treat all students as you would like to be treated
6. No threats allowed on campus
7.No murder or theaft of any kind
8. Must be in at least 9 credit hours to be a student
9. No smoking on campus
10.You must meet with a counselor before enrollment in the university.
10 rules to abide by in a professional setting
1. No Sexual Harassment
a. Every day a new case involving a sexual harassment plagues the business world. I feel that this is very important because people need to feel safe at work. If there is any sign of sexual harassment then it should be brought to the proper authorities.
2. Must follow dress code at all times
a. This rule encompasses all of forms of dress code such as: personal hygiene, apparel, undergarments, hair length/color, etc. Those that do not follow the dress code make the business look bad.
3. Show up to work on time
a. As long as an employee clocks in before or at the required time of arrival then they are considered to be on time. However, this rule also implies that any employee should try and arrive at work prior to their scheduled arrival time.
4. Leave your personal life at home
a. This rule means that if it does not pertain to the work setting, then it should not be there. An employee must arrive at work with the mindset that benefits the company.
5. Show respect to others as you would have them show respect to you
a. This is one of the golden rules that should be followed by any organization. Some refer to this as karma. Bottom line, you should always follow this rule in any setting.
6. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times
a. Working with a positive attitude is always beneficial to the company, other employees, and yourself. I chose to act in a professional manner as well because you as an employee are representing the company.
7. Don’t be afraid to ask for help
a. Asking for help is one of the most important things that an employee can do because it will make them more knowledgeable. This in turn can improve business performance.
8. Offer help to those in need
a. Offering help in my opinion is the most important thing you can do in order to ensure teamwork within a company. Offering help to those in need is a great way to promote a comfortable work setting.
9. Do not engage in illegal or unethical actions
a. This rule encompasses anything and everything that is illegal and unethical. For example, drugs, stealing, cheating, bribing, etc all fall under this category.
10. Always put forth your best effort
a. I find this rule to be very common and helpful to employees because it reminds them to always perform to the best of their ability. In doing so, it will possibly help others to act the same way.
10 Rules to follow in the Health Field Profession
1. Treat every patient seen in your office with the same amount of respect regardless on the insurance they may or may not have. I would choose this rule to follow because a lot of health care professionals are only out to look after themselves and follow psychological egoism. This also falls under virtue ethics and the physician can easily look down upon a patient or feel pity towards a patient. Working in the health care profession I have seen patients who look like they have Medicare or Medicaid be treated worse (not as much time is spent on them).
2. Do not try and scam insurance companies and bill for procedures not even rendered. I would choose this rule because health care professionals know that they will not get paid the full amount that they bill for. For example an exam charge could be $67.00 but an insurance company will only pay $40.00. To make up for the amount not paid for the exam health care professionals will bill for other services that they did not provide. This rule also falls under psychological egoism where the doctor is selfish and is only looking out for themselves. It is clear that their motive is to make the most amount of money off insurance companies.
3. The patient-health care professional relationship should be strictly professional. The patients trust should be gained by the professional but each other’s personal lives should not be discussed in a professional atmosphere. This rule crosses the virtue ethics boundaries. The patients come to an office to be seen by a professional and expect the physician to act in a certain way. A physician should not ask why you are taking medications and discuss your weight, looks or marital status unless it is deemed necessary for the treatment of the patient.
4. The relationship between health care workers should remain professional. This rule also fits into virtue and character. These professionals should be able to keep their feelings professional and under control in a health care setting.
5. A patient should always be aware of the treatment being given and sign an informed consent form. The patient should be aware of all of the benefits and risks of a treatment. The health care provider must always communicate with the patient and be sure that the patient fully understands the treatment. This rule falls under the virtue ethics and having the right amount of courage when treating a patient. If there is not enough courage, the physician will underestimate his/her ability, knowledge and can make the patient uneasy for the treatment. On the other hand if the physician has an excess of courage they can overlook possible risks of the treatment and can easily make a mistake.
6. Drug company vendor relationships’ with the physicians should remain professional. The physicians should not be influenced by gifts and free products to push a specific drug. If a physician just used this brand of drug and does no further research on the drug and its effectiveness then they have went against virtue ethics. In virtue ethics this physician would be a coward because he/she was too afraid to take a risk and go against the “know it all” vendors of the drugs trying to be sold.
7. All patients’ lives are of equal worth not matter what the circumstance. This falls under utilitarian ethics where a consequence for each act is equally calculated no matter what the circumstance. The people who believe in this type of utilitarian are considered act utilitarian’s and no matter if there is a murderer and a priest being kept alive on a respirator both lives are equally valuable and one person should not get better care over the other.
8. Physiological factors including stress, drugs and anger should not influence patient care. The physician should be able to separate home and work and not brig problems from home to work. An example is the incident in Fort Worth Texas where the Army psychiatrist shot over 40 victims and killed 13. Hasan dealt with many personnel who had just come back from the war in Afghanistan and was terrified of the war. This rule would fit under the ethics of duty and takes into account being able to a disciplined person and try to live an orderly life.
9. A health care professional should be well organized and be well aware of the patient’s circumstances and when in doubt refer the patient to a specialist. Instead of trying to treat a patient where the physician is not 100% sure they can help, the patient should be referred to someone who can help. This also falls under malpractice in which a physician misdiagnoses a patient. This rule also pertains to the virtue ethics and the excess of courage can ultimately lead to malpractice of a patient.
10. A patient or patient’s family has the right to deny any treatment at any time. A health care professional should never push any treatment or surgery on a patient at any time. If a patient feels like he/she is being pushed into a procedure this falls into duty ethics and the maxims of the physician’s actions. The maxims could include lying to the patient.

It is very important to always be honest. You should never be afraid to tell the truth, speak up, or voice your opinion – you are part of the company.

People should never be afraid to ask for help. A company would rather someone ask and get it right, then not ask and get it wrong. This could really hurt a company if you never ask.
5. Don’t Use The Computer For Leisure
While at work, people should be doing their job, not on the computer playing games or on social networking sites. They are there to work, not to play. This is also very distracting and will take time away from their assigned work.

It is extremely important that you are always on time for meetings with clients and on time for work in general. Being prompt is a good characteristic and shows professionalism.

Nobody wants to do business with someone who is not well-dressed, well prepared, or just plain professional. Being professional is the key to quality, efficiency, and good business.
9. All Internal Information is NOT To Leave The Workplace
You never want to leak internal information about a company because you don’t want your competitors or any one else knowing about the company’s operations. This could greatly affect the company’s image and negatively affect the company’s profits.
10. Don’t Bring Your Personal Problems to the Workplace
Bringing personal problems in the workplace will only result in a very unproductive day. Not only will this affect your performance but it will affect others around you as well.

1. Know that your actions effect others
- as human beings, we respond to each other and impact each other
2.Look the part
-perception is reality for the people around you
3. Act the part
-the way you act legitimizes where you are
4. Don’t ever be satisfied
-be happy of where you are to the point where you want to be better at what you do
5. Respect other’s bodies
-personal space, do not harass
6. Respect others’ ideas
-everyone has something to offer
7. Do great work
-people can help shape who you are, but stealing from them is unacceptable. Do the best you can do
8. Live with integrity
- act as though someone is also watching and that you are shaping who you are by everything you do
9. Be punctual
-arriving late to things tells people “I am better than you and can do as I please”, which is false
10. Be inclusive
-people are created to be together
10 Rules
1. Don’t take
- I think each person works hard, so that they can achieve the finer things in life. Stealing from someone is just showing that you’re too lazy to work for your own things. It creates a bad character for one’s self.
2. Be on Time
- I think being on time is very important in life. When you’re late you’re not only loosing valuable time, but you wasting someone else’s time that may be waiting on you. It’s just all together impolite.
3. Be honest/ tell the truth
- When people lie I believe that it only causes people to get further into a bad situation. When you tell the truth people may be less upset than if you were to tell a lie prior to that truth.
4. Follow through with your commitments
- When I was young my mother pried this concept into me; “If you say you’re going to do something; do it!” This helps create the character of a dependable person. When other people are counting on you, the worst thing you can do is back out.
5. Treat others as you want to be treated
- A friend of mine once told me, “You teach people how to treat you.” I found this to be absolutely true. If you do nice things for someone, then one day when you need the favor you will never have to hesitate that someone won’t help you.
6. Be grateful/ appreciative
- When someone helps you out be grateful; show your appreciation. People don’t want to do things for people who expect to b helped.
7. Be positive
- I believe that a situation can always be worse, so it’s helpful to look on the bight side. Be angry, frustrated, and stressed don’t help you achieve more, so why bother with those emotions?
8. Take chances/ make changes
- Success doesn’t come without a risk factor. You can’t gain anything if you’re not willing to lose anything. Make a change in your life. Without change we stay in the same repetitive, boring cycle, and we start to think of life as dull and lifeless.
9. Make time for yourself
- Now, I’m not saying to drop your priorities everyday to do whatever you want to do, but it’s important to remember that time for yourself is vital. It helps clear the brain and get a fresh, new take on things.
10. Be happy
- Happiness isn’t always getting what you want, but instead being happy with what you are given. Everyone always wants something more, and at this rate if we wait we will never be happy. Be happy now and you can always be happier later.

4) Do not cheat on academics: This could be in the form of plagiarism or cheating on a final.
5) Do not consume drugs or alcohol on campus
6) Use the library at least 5 hours a week: Ive seen too many students complain about not being able to complete assignments, but never use UCF resources
7) attend a help session for a test once during the testing dates: This will raises grades and moral
9) Meet with professor once a month to review grades, ask questions, and review overall performance: This will allow students and professors to create hands on time on such a large campus
10) Always do your best: this rule is general, but should always be followed
To be honest when I sat down to write rules for every student I could only come up with these 9. I sat here for hours trying to come up with more but they all seemed redundant.
1. No violence of any kind; other than self defense will be tolerated towards any other student, visitor, citizen and or faculty member of any kind. The first incident; only if deemed a minor incident by an independent panel will result in a warning. Any further incidents will result in expulsion.
This rule is self – explanatory. We will in an evolved society where violence will not and should not be tolerated.
2. No cheating of any kind. Cheating is classified as taking another’s work, directly copying and pasting from a non cited source, hiring other to take tests, and other inferences determined by your individual professors. The first violation will result in a warning. Each and every violation thereafter will be referred to a panel which will determine if it warrants expulsion.
This is another rule which is obvious. No cheating is allowed or will be tolerated.
3. No sexual harassment of any kind will be tolerated. Again any violation will be presented to an independent board which will deem its consequence. Police action, suspension, expulsion, and or community service will be considered as punishment.
This rule is an important rule in our day and age of overhyped sex.
4. Disturbing the peace will not be tolerated. Disturbing the peace is defined as any action that occurs outside the scope of normal behavior that disputes multiple students concentration or daily routine. This is to be handled with local police authorities.
When students are trying to focus or get out of hand this can commonly be a situation.
5. Underage Drinking is strictly prohibited and any occurrences or reports will be referred to the local authorities.
6. Drug use is strictly prohibited and any occurrences or reports will be referred to the local authorities.
7. Parking in non designated parking areas will result in tickets or fines on a sliding scale based off offenses.
8. Speeding beyond posted speed limits will result in the following fines.
9. Protesting is allowed but must be scheduled through the univerity or it will be considerd disturbing the peace.
These two rules are self explanatory.
1) No cheating of any kind on exams/assignments
Help your mates
- Unethical, when you cheat you are taking advantage over another’s work. You are getting credit for something that you are not suppose to, as you didn’t put any effort on it.
2) No drugs allowed on campus
- Illegal. Drugs are no good for any student success, as they are going to school to learn and be evaluated upon their knowledge.
3) No sideway talk on class
- Students must be respectful to their instructor and to others students in class.
4) No disrespectful behavior
- Treat faculty staff and mates as you want to be treated.
5) Courses Plan
- Plan your courses ahead of time. So you don’t waste time taking courses that you do not need, or taking fewer courses than you should be taking because you did not meet the requirements.
6) Do not procrastinate
- Be on time. Don’t do things on the last minute. When you have time to do your work you do it better than when you are in a rush.
7) Do not steal
- Respect another’s belongings. Stealing besides illegal it is unethical.
- Be kind and helpful to your mates when they need a helping hand.
9) Dress code
- I do believe that the way people dresses sometimes may be distracting. School should be a place
10) Vandalism
- School property must be respected.
Ten Commandments for a paralegal
1. Treat everyone whether they are above you or below you, as you would want to be treated. I chose this because I think sometimes people treat others differently depending of there position and I think all should be treated the same.
2. Use a reasonable person’s expectation for giving assignments and completing assignments. I chose this because I think sometimes people give unreasonable expectations on completing work. People do have lives and family besides work.
3. Arrive timely and if you are going to be late or sick, make arrangements ahead of time. I chose this because when someone else is late or sick when you work as a team (as you do in a law firm) it affects everyone else’s workload.
4. If you make a mistake, fess up immediately so it can be fixed. I chose this because if you just ignore it, it will come up eventually so better to try and fix it before it’s too late.
5. Prioritize and organize. I chose this because in this profession without it you will fail.
6. No drugs. I chose this because you cannot run a business if employees are using drugs.
7. No sexual harassment. I chose this because everyone has the right to feel safe in there work environment.
8. Follow the professional dress code. I chose this and I used to be against it, but now as I become older I understand that to be professional and have a professional environment you must dress the part to create that type of atmosphere.
9. No fraternization. I chose this because in the legal field you do see a lot of attorney/secretary relationships and I think its inappropriate and relationships within the firm should be kept professional so that you both can concentrate on your job.
10. Lastly, work as a team. I chose this because your co-workers are people that you spend a lot of time with and if you work together as a team it will be much easier to complete tasks and you will go much further quicker, then if you don’t.
1. No cheating
2. No lying
3. No stealing
4. No killing of any sort
5. No drugs on campus
6. No use or being under the influence of drugs on campus
7. No physical harm to a student or faculty
8. Respect yourself and others
9. No sexual activities on campus
10. No gang activity on campus
The reason I think that these should be the rules is because they are simply and straight forward. Everyone has there own opinion of what they would do if they were in charge. Its amazing when the rules change everyone likes to complain or if you get a new principle but some how they will always find a way to break or bend them to please themselves. You can’t please them all but in order for people to follow you have to have guidelines to live by and consequences when you don’t follow them. There is no place in life that there will not be rules or guidelines to which you have to follow.
