I’m interested primarily in social philosophy, and this is also where my research areas all converge. Whether I’m writing about Thomas Hobbes in the history of philosophy or academic integrity, supererogatory actions or teaching methods, the focus is on some aspect of freedom/rights, justice, and how these things are manifested in interpersonal and social relationships.
This blog contains several major sections. They are on academic ethics/academic integrity, UCF’s participation in the Core Commitments project through the Association of American Colleges and Universities, and on ethics and social philosophy in general, with the ethics of interpersonal relationships as a major factor. Another is on UCF’s Information Fluency Initiative, of which the UCF Department of Philosophy is a part. Another section is on Thomas Hobbes. Other pages are about the classes I teach at UCF in Orlando.
I’m hopeful that people interested in any of these topics will contribute to discussions on them and on other issues as well.
